At first, I thought it was faulty (when I inserted the rechargeable batteries, it didn't work, but when I inserted regular batteries, it worked), then I realized that perhaps one of the batteries wasn't fully charged, so I recharged it, and everything worked (most likely it was consuming a lot of power and didn't have enough charge for the power requirement). So don't panic if you insert old batteries. The batteries seem to be like AAA (and insert the batteries as shown in the picture in the slot, you need to insert them in different directions).
